How to soft reset the NOOK
A soft reset tells the device to forget any recent commands or data. It doesn’t erase any of your books, documents, or configuration settings. To soft reset, do this:- Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds, then release the power button. That’s a fairly long time. About the length of most television commercials for annoying cellphone deals.
- Press the power button again for 2 seconds to turn on your tablet.
A hard reset of your tablet is drastic
Performing a hard reset is significant; it forces the
NOOK Tablet to clears all temporary settings. It takes the tablet all
the way back to factory default settings, and it erases all content. The
only time you’ll do a hard reset is when someone in customer service
tells you to, or you want to erase your tablet before giving or
reselling it to someone else.
