Resetting your Sony PEG S360 handheld
Normally, you do not have to reset your Sony handheld.However, if the system behaves abnormally or does not respond to the
button or stylus on the screen, and insufficient memory or other reasons,
you must reset your Sony handheld.
To reset (soft reset)
If you perform a soft reset, the system keeps data recorded in your Sony
handheld.
1 Take out the stylus pin by twisting the upper part of the
stylus.
2 Slowly press the reset button at the back of Sony handheld
using the stylus.
The system shuts down and then restarts.
After restarting, the system displays “Palm Computing Platform,” and
then the preferences screen for setting the time and date appears.
To perform a Sony Clie PEG S360 hard reset
When you cannot start your Sony handheld by soft reset, you must performa hard reset to restart it.
Note
All records stored are deleted by hard reset.
Do not perform the hard reset unless you cannot start Sony handheld by the
soft reset.
However, you can restore only records stored in your computer with the
HotSync and you can see it the next time you perform a HotSync operation.
1 Push and hold the power button.
2 Press slowly the reset button at the back while pushing the
power button.
Palm Computing Platform screen appear.
3 Remove your finger from the power button.
The message on the screen indicates that all records stored in your
Sony handheld are deleted.
4 Push the upper part of the scroll button in the front panel.
Your Sony handheld is reset.
After a hard reset, the current data and time are left as they were. The
other settings, such as the format preferences, are set back to the
Factory (default) settings.
Note
If the scroll button was used just prior to hard-resetting, the hard-reset may
not be performed.
